According to information supplied by the vendor, this particular example was imported to the UK from the dry state of Nevada (USA) in 2007. A 'rust free' car that had apparently run to NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) rules while Stateside, its conversion into a circuit racer was entrusted to Devon-based specialists, Dulford Automotive. By the time the latter had executed their brief in July 2008, the Mustang could reportedly boast "a fully balanced 4.7 litre V8 engine (complete with a Holley 600 carburettor, 'H' section Eagle con-rods, forged pistons and Headman headers etc), Ford 'Toploader' four-speed manual gearbox, SFI McLoud safety belhousing, Detroit Locker 9-inch differential, ATL 120-litre petrol tank, substantial roll cage and Torque Thrust wheels etc". Finished in silver over blue with a single high-backed black Cobra bucket seat, the left-hand drive notchback is understood to "have done just thirty 'shakedown' laps at Castle Combe since work was completed". As well as variously describing the Mustang as being in "good" (paintwork, electrical equipment, stripped-out interior), "original / very solid" (bodywork) or "excellent" (engine, gearbox) condition, the vendor believes this purposeful looking Mustang to be "fresh and ready for the forthcoming season".
