On the drawing board, the front-engined, water-cooled 928 was destined to replace the 911, which was reckoned to be past its sell-by-date with its ancient air-cooled technology. Happily for the worldwide fan base of the traditional Porsche, however, the two models were produced in parallel.
This 1986-built 928, a right-hand S2 coupe with 4.7-litre eight-cylinder engine and four-speed automatic transmission, is said by the entrant to be very original with very good service history. In dark blue metallic, the fixed head is fitted with sunroof and later Porsche alloys. Leather interior, the seats in dark blue piped in red, is said to be very nice. Indeed, cosmetically, the whole car is claimed by the vendor to be all good and drives very well, too, with no faults known to him. He believes the 107,000 miles displayed when entered to be the genuine total for the V8 GT from new. The current MOT will be valid until next July.
