History and service information on file of this 1970-built lefthand drive coupe is described as lovely, including original 1970 purchase paperwork from Porsche KG of Salzburg in Austria. We understand that the first owner, an American, sent his daughter, at school in Europe at the time, to collect the car. Porsche headed paperwork as well as invoices are with the car as is the original handbook. We are told that this car, a Californian import, has also featured on the front cover of the Karmann Komment magazine.
The Karmann-Ghia crafted coupe coachwork is described as being in good condition as are the paintwork in Porsche orange and black leatherette trimmed interior, which is said still to be original with the desirable wooden steering wheel rim present. The 1.6-litre 4-cylinder motor and 4-speed manual gearbox are reportedly in good order. The 57,926 miles displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage, while the MOT is current until November and, because of its age, the German classic qualifies for a tax-exempt tax.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
