1991 Chevrolet Camaro RS
Supplied new to Japan and just c.32,000 recorded miles

Estimated at £13,000 - £15,000

Lot details

Registration No: H182 DKH
Chassis No: 1G1FP23E3ML168933
MOT: June 2022

  • Very rare Japanese market Camaro with optional 305 ci (5 litre) V8 engine, four-speed automatic transmission and equipment package
  • In remarkable condition and showing a highly credible 52,000km (c.32,500 miles) to its odometer
  • Imported from Japan in 2006 and current registered keeper for eleven years
  • A total headturner, American muscle from the land of the rising sun!

Styled by Gerry Palmer, the third-generation Chevrolet Camaro began production on October 12th 1981. Named Motor Trend magazine’s ‘Car of the Year’ for 1982, the 2+2-seater was considerably lighter, better handling and more aerodynamic than its predecessor. Available in four-cylinder, V6 and V8 guises, the latter proved the most popular. Revised for 1991, the Camaro gained a ground effects package for the RS and Z28 models.

Among a limited number of third-generation Chevrolet Camaros sold new in Japan via Yanase & Co Ltd, chassis 1G1FP23E3ML168933 is understood to have had just one Japanese keeper, Kiyoto Kabusako, before being imported to the UK during 2006. Showing a highly credible 52,000km (c.32,000 miles) to its odometer, the 2+2-seater was last serviced in June 2020. Kept garaged and obviously much-loved, the Chevy pleasingly retains its under dashboard torch and bag for the removable targa top panels. Described by the vendor as being in ‘excellent overall’ condition with regards to its 5 litre V8 engine, automatic transmission, electrical equipment, bodywork, paintwork and interior trim, he further rates ‘H182 DKH’ as ‘a superb original car that is lovely to drive with no known issues’. Offered for sale with V5C Registration Document, history file and MOT Certificate valid until June 2022.
