Lot details Registration No: UN-REG Chassis No: 10851128 Mot Expiry: None
Revamped for 1939 by Chrysler's trusty engineering trinity of Fred Zeder, Carl Breer and Owen Skelton, the Plymouth model range benefited from the re-adoption of independent front suspension (last used in 1934) and a sharp new look complete with front wing integrated 'Riteway' headlamps. Built around a modular cruciform braced perimeter frame chassis, each and every version was powered by the marque's well-proven 201ci (3.3 litre) straight-six engine mated to a three-speed manual gearbox.
Finished in dark grey with brown cloth upholstery, this particular left-hand drive example has been part of the collection since 1990. Fitted with a sculpted bench seat, the passenger half of which tips forward to give access to a huge boot, its evocative interior also features a wood-effect painted dashboard and Plymouth pushbutton radio. Wearing all steel Briggs bodywork (106.20436), this handsome Business Coupe has some nice detailing with the Plymouth Ship logo cast into its rear light lenses etc.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
