William Morris's sturdy and affordable Cowley and Oxford models helped change British motoring from an elitist pastime to transport for the masses, and therefore hold an important place in automotive history. No less than 150,000 were produced between 1919 and 1926, which were powered by four-cylinder engines of either 1548 or 1802cc. The very smart-looking two-seat 'Bullnose' Cowley Tourer on offer sports the bigger of the two units and hails from 1926. It features distinctive Yellow over Black paintwork allied to yellow wheels and Brown interior trim. The vendor rates the Morris highly, describing the paintwork as 'perfect', the bodywork as 'excellent', the 1802cc engine and four-speed gearbox as 'very good' and the trim as 'good'. The odometer currently reads an unwarranted 2489 miles and '9520 UM' is being sold without current MOT or tax, but complete with hood and running board-mounted Shell fuel can.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
