The advent of the contemporary BMW-engineered Mini has galvanised somewhat the demand for very good examples of the more familiar, classic Issigonis-derived version. BMW acquired the Rover Group in 1994 but had yet to make any apparent changes to production by the time this Mini Mayfair was built a year or so later. Powered by the ubiquitous 1275cc A-series engine (the 998cc version having been dropped in 1990) allied to four-speed manual transmission, its specification includes single-point fuel injection.
Since new this Mayfair is understood to have had just "one lady owner" and to have been "fully serviced by a main dealer". We are further informed that it has been "garaged" and "maintained regardless". Finished in Green Metallic with Grey cloth upholstery, 'N286 EBK' is described by the vendor as being in "very good" condition with regard to its engine, gearbox, electrical equipment, bodywork, paintwork and interior trim. Though, the latter apparently shows some "slight damage to the wood veneer". Showing some 37,000 miles to its odometer, this seemingly pampered Mini Mayfair is offered for sale current MOT certificate valid until July 2013.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
