This 1984 Mercedes-Benz 280CE - a right-hand drive two-door pillar-less coupe in Champagne Gold with full four-seater accommodation in mushroom velour - was first purchased by a Mr J C Pickford of Prestbury, Cheshire, in March 1984, his nephew a Mr P Gardiner of Macclesfield acquiring it in February 2002 and the current Derby owner purchasing it directly from him in October 2002. The fixed head as power-steering, ABS, electric window and sunroof, and central locking.
MOTs date from February 1994, when the mileage was 99,970. According to subsequent MOTs, only a further 2000-3000 miles annually have been added and the mileage had risen when entered to a believed to be genuine 125,116 total.
Service history is almost complete, mostly by main dealers, the last service with brake fluid change carried out at 121,000 miles by Derby main dealers Mertrux. The battery was renewed last February. The latest MOT was passed in March, so the current certificate will be valid until well into next year, and the tax disc is current until September. A new owner would be treated by the vendor, a keen member of the Merc OC, to one year's membership.
