Derek Bennett's Chevron marque was best known for the elegant sports racing and GT cars but the single seaters that were built in parallel were often very effective on circuits as well.
The B18 replaced the B17 and from a series of sleek cars they abruptly became quite square lined and that in a car that was intended for F2, F3 and Formula Atlantic. As it was intended for a variety of events it had a bolt on engine sub frame that facilitated change from one category to another. This is the ex-works 1971 car that was driven by Jo Siffert and it comes with full FIA and HSCC papers and has a total provenance in history back to day one.
In the history file there is a copy of the FIA papers as well as a complete précis of its history from new. It will be sold with various spare wheels and tyres plus a set of Chevron original wheels and odd rims. There is also a good professionally manufactured nose cone and wing moulds and this car, we are informed, is on the button and recently had the brakes serviced and is prepared and ready for testing.
Please note: We have not had this vehicle started in the building.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
