Lot details Registration No: 138 BY Chassis No: ZFFWC26C000074029 Mot Expiry: May 2003
Ferrari introduced four valves per cylinder to the Mondial in August 1982 and this was to embrace all of the roadgoing GT's in due course. Their aim was to address the problem of loss of power that was being experienced with the two valve cars as they had to be de-tuned to meet the seemingly endless legislation.
Dating from 1989 this beautifully presented Pininfarina Mondial is a 3.2 litre Cabriolet version, which is finished in stunning metallic black paintwork with the crema leather interior. It has been with the present owner since April 2000 during which time a major service has been completed which included the fitting of new cam-belts, new tyres, a new CD player and a new tonneau. It is described as being in superb order throughout and the cherished number 138BY is included with the sale of the car.
The file accompanying the car includes a service history, invoices and seven past MOT certificates, and the 37,000 showing on odometer is believed to be correct from new. The Mondial is the only four-seater convertible Ferrari available today and this could be one of the best examples available anywhere.
Please note: Although the mileage is believed to be correct at 37000, the odometer has been disconnected, as it was actually registering miles with the ignition on. We have been informed by the vendor that very little mileage has been covered since April of 2002.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
