The GSXR750redfined sports bike performance when it was introduced in 1985, making every other over 500cc machine with any sort of sporting pretensions obsolete. Conceived as a road legal endurance racer, the new model featured an oil/air cooled, twin cam, four cylinder engine housed in an aluminium perimeter frame equipped with a rising rate rear suspension system. The bodywork came straight from the Bol d'Or with a slab-sided full fairing housing two headlights and a racing style seat unit. Capable of 150mph in standard form the new model was backed up by a readily available race kit, developed by the renowned tuner "Pops" Yoshimura in conjunction with Suzuki, which included a gas flowed cylinder head, four into one exhaust system, high compression piston, titanium valve springs and a dry clutch kit plus a number of other items.
This particular machine was campaigned by Keith Hewin in the 1986 British Superstock Championship and is described as being in very good condition cosmetically. The engine, which is believed to be to the standard specification, was "race ready" when the machine was put into storage. Harris adjustable triple clamps are fitted to the machine.
