When BMC replaced the MGA with the MGB in 1962, the most fundamental differences were the employment of a unitary-construction bodyshell rather than a separate chassis and body, and a larger four-cylinder engine of 1798cc capacity instead of the 1622cc four that powered the final run of MGAs.
Offered here is a 1967-built, righthand drive MGB roadster shod with the desirable wire wheels. The current keeper tells us that his roadster, which has been in receipt of over £5000 expenditure during the past seven years of ownership, is in excellent condition. Having been rebuilt, the bodywork painted in Mineral Blue, is described as good, whilst the black leather seats and carpets have been replaced recently. Both 1.8-litre four-cylinder B motor and four-speed manual gearbox are reportedly in good order, the car said to be running very well. The current MOT certificate is valid until September of next year. An open B is not only a highly affordable route into sportscar motoring, but thanks to a very straightforward mechanical layout is a completely practical proposition to own.
PLEASE NOTE: We have noticed that the syncromesh has gone on the 2nd gear.
