Lot details Registration No: MG 3386 Chassis No: PA1029 Mot Expiry: Exempt
Only 498 MG PA Four-Seater Tourers were built (making it far rarer than its two-seater sibling). Rumoured to be one of just five similar cars known to have survived, chassis PA1029 is thought to have been supplied new by University Motors due to its 'MG 3386' registration plate (the famous marque concessionaire often procuring appropriate 'MG' numbers for clients) and related dashboard plaques. Somewhat dilapidated by the time it entered the current family ownership in 1986, we are informed that the Four-Seater was subsequently treated to 'a thorough restoration using original parts wherever possible'. Exhibited at numerous rallies into the 1990s but used primarily for outings with family and friends over the last few years, the MG appears to pleasingly retain its original engine (number 1284AP). Adopting its current two-tone livery following research by the vendor's late husband, this handsome and evocative Post Vintage Thoroughbred would grace many a collection.
