Aston Martin launched their extraordinarily futuristic looking Lagonda with its William Towns styled, wedge-shaped and extraordinarily futuristic looking sports, though luxury saloon body, which could accommodate four, in 1976. Under the bonnet was the familiar Aston 5340cc V8.
It was 1978, however, before the top people could get their hands on one of these high tech models. The razor-sharp body lines were softened and larger wheels fitted from 1987 and production ended in 1989 after 600 had been built. Such was the uncontrolled inflation of the times that, during its thirteen year run, Lagonda prices rose from 24,570 to more than £85000 - whilst a longer wheelbase version with bar and TV commanded £100,000!
We understand that the vendor acquired the 1980-manufactured car from main Aston Martin Lagonda dealers Stratton in 1985. He tells us that the headlining was renewed last year, wool over-rugs are fitted and the tyres are new. He says that the 28,000 mile car has seen very little use in recent years, has always been garaged and the 125 KE registration is included.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
