Lot details Registration No: E380GPV Chassis No: SA9DH35P2HB019116 Mot Expiry: June 2006
TVR was founded in 1947 by Trevor Wilkinson who ran Trevcar Motors in his hometown of Blackpool where he turned out a series of specials. The first series-production Grantura appeared in 1958. Happily, the feisty Northern marque weathered a series of financial set-backs and, now in Russian ownership, is in extremely good shape today.
Here is a good example of what TVR fans reckon is the ultimate `wedge' model, the Tasmin 350 which has the benefit of the 3.5-litre Rover V8 resulting in such awesomely impressive power to weight ratio. The open sportscar, built in 1987, has full leather interior, period alloy wheels and excellent hood, while both exhaust in stainless steel and clutch have recently been renewed.
The chassis is described by the entrant as being in good condition, GRP bodywork painted white and burgundy leather both good, too, and 3498cc eight-cylinder engine and five-speed manual gearbox also reportedly in good order.
The 88,398 miles recorded when entered for the sale is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage for E380 GPV, which, we are told, is likely to have a full twelve month's MOT by sale day.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
