Lot details Registration No: NUO482F Chassis No: GCD1-1663D Mot Expiry: May 2013
This smartly presented MGC GT is one of the sought-after University Motors examples and was first registered on April 25th 1968. Finished in Tartan Red with Black leather upholstery, it was reportedly restored around 1989, turned into a show car and trailered from event to event. The next owner is understood to have converted the MG into a classic competition car, rallying it throughout Europe. Over the last three years it has yet again been transformed - this time into a fast continental Tourer.
The body has been fitted with a number of new panels and resprayed. Claimed to develop 220bhp, the engine apparently features a polished and ported lead-free cylinder head, fast road camshaft, balanced crankshaft and conrods, trio of 45DCOE weber carburettors, tubular exhaust manifold and stainless steel system, Kenlowe fan, electronic ignition and high output alternator. The overdrive gearbox has been overhauled; the 3.7:1 axle checked and repaired; the brakes equipped with uprated servo, drilled discs and harder front pads; the suspension fitted with Nyloc bushes, Spax adjustable dampers and three-quarter inch anti-roll bar. The interior benefits from MG Owners' Club seats and walnut trim for the facia doors and gear knob. Described by the vendor as having an "excellent" engine, gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, bodywork and paintwork, 'NVO 482F' possesses a MOT certificate valid until May 2013.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
