The Metro-Tyler company was the result of the Birmingham based Metro company, who had been producing motorcycles powered by a 269cc two stroke single of their own manufacture since 1912, being taken over by Tyler Apparatus Co. Ltd. of London in 1919. For 1923 the company offered a number of variants including a fully enclosed model and a sports version with a two speed gearbox, kickstart and clutch , as well as the variant offered here, which at 34 guineas was proclaimed in the catalogue as being "the cheapest and lightest 2 1/2hp Motor Cycle at present on the market".
Described by the vendor as being in good condition throughout this interesting and rare single speed machine is offered with an MOT certificate valid until the 13th September 2007 and a Road Fund Licence that expires at the end of September 2007, together with copies of the original sales catalogue.
