We are indebted to the Vendor for the following information:
"The car was in the film Rockets Galore starring Donald Sinden, sequel to the famous film Whisky Galore. After it's film appearance it was left to deteriorate, this was around 1957. It was finally rescued and restored. There were several pictures in the file, one of which showed it before restoration with Star of Rocket Galore in white written on it, some of its use as a wedding car and another of Donald Sinden sitting on the running board.
It was converted to coil ignition, probably because the mag was no longer working. The body is in very good condition, but the paintwork has some minor faults. The side screens have obviously not been used that much since the restoration because they in very good condition and fold down into the doors.
The car has done very little mileage since I relined the brakes and replaced the rear oil seal on the offside. The interior is in good condition but in leather-cloth. I had the windscreen restored about 4 years ago. The hood is ok, but not in the best condition. The engine runs well but is in need of a new timing chain.
I have the correct Magneto which is working and that goes with car as well as the DVD of Rockets Galore."
