Styled in-house by Jogi Nagashima, the BMW Z3 entered production in September 1995. Derived from the contemporaneous E36 3-Series Saloon (though, its semi-trailing arm rear suspension was courtesy of the earlier E30), the Roadster's running gear included power-assisted rack and pinion steering, Macpherson strut independent front suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Initially powered by 1.8 or 1.9 litre four-cylinder engines allied to either manual or automatic transmission, larger capacity straight-six units joined the Z3 range from 1996 onwards. Boasting 52:48 weight distribution and a top speed of over 125mph, the stylish two-seater found fame as James Bond's transport in the 1995 film Goldeneye.
This Z3 Roadster was manufactured in 1998 and was registered new in the United Kingdom on the 26th of February 1998. Fitted with the 1895cc straight-four engine with a five-speed manual transmission. The BMW is finished in Cosmic black paintwork with Oregon black leather interior upholstery. ‘R921 SEP’ has covered a total of 91,268 miles from new (at time of consignment) and has only five former keepers. We specified from new the BMW Z3 has optional extras of heated windscreen washer nozzles; chrome line interior; velour floor mats; warning triangle; RDS; roll-bar protection system and leather steering wheel. Previously owned by a BMW enthusiast, the Z3 is offered with a history file that comprises a stamped service book showing twelve entries and a collection of past MOTs, invoice and tax discs.
