- Extensively restored in 2000 inc. engine overhaul and interior re-trim
- Said to 'run nicely' and offered with 'lots of interesting history'
This delightful Black period Rover was in the previous ownership for no less than 62 years. By 2000 it was deemed in need of a general refresh and was treated to a full engine overhaul, new springs, kingpins, brakes and tyres, plus a complete retrim of the interior. The vendor now grades the bodywork, interior, four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox as 'very good' and the paintwork as 'good', and informs us that the car 'runs nicely and is fully functional and ready to enjoy'. Having had little recent use, the P2 is now seeking a new home and is being offered complete with 'lots of interesting paperwork'. Rover's 10hp P2 model was launched in 1939 and produced until 1947, with very few examples made pre-war but some 2,640 post the hostilities. The 1340cc engine by now produced 48bhp and the four-speed gearbox boasted synchromesh on the top two ratios.
