The Mini turned the industry on its head when BMC launched the innovative Alec Issigonis design, which skillfully provided the maximum amount of space for occupants in the shortest possible wheelbase. The automotive phenomenon went on to become probably the best known British motor car of all time and, as far as the motorsport world goes, quickly accumulated successes on motor race circuit and rally special stage alike. Indeed, even today, the Mini is winning events in both ancient and modern categories somewhere in the world most weekends.
The current keeper tells us that this 1967-built Morris Mini Cooper was purchased in July 1990, before which the MkI righthand drive sports saloon only had two previous owners, the last acquiring it way back in 1967. The bodyshell and white and black paintwork are said to be in excellent condition and the transversely-mounted 998cc 4-cylinder engine and 4-speed manual transmission are both reportedly in good order. The 53,684 mileage displayed when entered is believed to be the genuine total, while the MOT is current until next May.
