Supplanting the 500SEC as flagship of the Mercedes-Benz C126 range, the 560SEC was launched at the September 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show. Sharing the same basic M117 engine architecture as its lesser sibling, the new model employed a longer stroke and Bosch KE 111 Jetronic ignition. Credited with some 300bhp and 325lbft of torque in non-catalyst guise, the 560SEC boasted four-speed automatic transmission as standard. Reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds and 150mph, the high-performance coupe proved a rewarding and enjoyable drive thanks to its all round independent suspension (complete with back axle acceleration stabiliser), four-wheel disc brakes and power assisted steering. The fastest, most powerful Mercedes-Benz of its generation, the 560SEC was a strong seller with some 5,299 despatched worldwide in 1989.

Presenting in Nautic Blue paintwork with complementary Grey leather interior, this example of the 560SEC ‘flagship’, was supplied to Ross Jaye and Company Limited in West London, when new. Today, the odometer reads just c.92,000 miles however it's understood the Mercedes has previously had its odometer replaced. It still wears its high specification, which includes Blaupunkt Bremen in-car entertainment, air-conditioning, headlamp washers/wipers, Mercedes carpet mats, and Pirelli tyres all round. The subject of much expenditure in current ownership, despite money spent on the sunroof, we believe it will still require some attention. Offered with an original service book, a collection of invoices, and a list of expenditures, there is a V5C Registration Document on file.

The following work was carried out: October 2023 Autobody - Respray of the rear bumper and Merparts – Radio; September 2023 Merparts – Sunroof; July 2022 CMS - Fit new ball joints front, Cottage Garage - Brake pads and Clarke & Evans - Ball joints; June 2022 RLC Autos – Boot and Trim Tec – Mats; May 2022 Clarke & Evans - Starter motor; April 2022 Clarke & Evans – Brackets under bonnet; March 2022 Clarke & Evans - Full service; May 2021 Autobody – Panel work; July 2020 RLC Autos – Battery; March 2020 SAT Autos – Refurbishment of 4 wheels; March 2020 Replacement tyres and balancing; April 2020 Work carried out at Dronsfields.
