Further Info:
H&H are indebted to the vendor for the following description:
The TANDBERG started its life as a standard Jaguar MKII 3.8 Saloon in 1961. A subsequent owner decided to repurpose the MKII as a promotional tool for his business in High Wycombe which supplied TANDBERG Radios / TVs. The Jaguar was converted into a Pickup. Following some ten years' ownership, the hi-fi retailer sold the MKII to a Jaguar enthusiast who used it at various shows and events in the South of England during the late 1970s/80s. The TANDBERG then vanished off the show circuit and was re-discovered in Scotland covered in hay after a car collector had passed away. It then passed through several owners who each placed their own stamp on the vehicle. Nigel Thorley from the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club has included the story of The TANDBERG in 'Jaguar Mark 1 & 2 (Haynes Great Car Series)'. '687 DWP' is understood to be the only Jaguar MKII listed as a Pickup by the DVLA. Powered by a later XK 4.2 litre DOHC engine allied to manual transmission, it has a suitably attention grabbing exhaust note'.
