RESERVE REDUCED

In partnership with H.M. Nielsen, Peder Andersen Fisker from Denmark produced electric motors and from around 1910 the first vacuum cleaners in Europe. Fisker believed he could develop a motorcycle and in late 1918 decided to construct a prototype to his own design. Initial sales were not good and Fisker began entering his design in competition events, often with a sidecar attached, and built up a good reputation for the machine. Unfortunately, an economic recession in the 1920s resulted in production being discontinued in 1926 after only 1,300 machines had been produced. With his son Anders, Fisker started designing a new machine in 1932 and by 1934 was able to demonstrate a new Nimbus motorcycle, the Model 'C'. It retained the inline 4-cylinder engine configuration and shaft drive but had a completely redesigned top end producing 18bhp and a frame made from 40mm X 8mm steel flat bar using riveted construction. Not many bikes were exported, and the Nimbus has now attained almost iconic status, not only in Denmark but also abroad where it’s very individual character makes it a machine of unusual technical interest.

First sold in Odense in Denmark by M. Nielsen Motorcycles in 1948, this Nimbus 750cc inline four was authentically restored by the vendor during the lockdown. It is the 22 bhp model with domed top pistons and it is on solo gearing. Unusual, not just for its engine layout but also for its box section frame and rubber band suspension the bike has been ridden since the rebuild including being chosen as the 'Best in Show' on the 2022 MAG Yorkshire Pudding Rally. It comes supplied with an English language manual and some Nimbus magazine features together with a current V5C.
