Lot details Registration No: UJW827L Chassis No: SRH14966 Mot Expiry: Nov 2005
The 1965-introduced Silver Shadow was the first Rolls-Royce model to employ unitary-construction rather than separate chassis and body. This Shadow, a 1972 Crewe-built four-door, was first sold to the Chairman of Bryant Homes and has been enjoyed by the last owner, an active member of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club, for the last thirteen years, during which time he maintained the saloon so that, today, it is still in what is claimed by the entrant to be good original order.
The shell's chassis is said to be in good condition, bodywork fair, black Everflex roof over walnut paintwork good and beige leather fair. The 6750cc eight-cylinder motor and three-speed automatic transmission are reportedly in very good order.
Inspect the history file, which, we understand, will have invoices for maintenance work carried out totalling over £20,000. The vendor advises us that the right-hand drive car is likely to have been MOT tested by sale day and, again, interested parties should check out the latest certificate in our documents office at the Buxton auction venue.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
