Lot details

Registration No: G222 UEU
Chassis No: WF0NXXGBBNKB42026
MOT: Expired

Motor Car Location: Cheshire

  • Rare surviving Chasseur model; supplied new via Hancock Ford, Horsham
  • Only 53,258 miles from new
  • Current ownership since 2015 with only two former keepers
  • Offered with a history file including service book with 23 entries

Instantly recognisable by its XR4i style bumpers and full-length factory fitted roof rack, the Chasseur estate was introduced in March 1989 as one of the ‘run-out’ limited edition models for the Sierra. The Chasseur has now become one of the rarest collectable special edition Sierra models.

Manufactured in 1989 and UK registered in August that year, this Chasseur estate was supplied new by Hancock Ford in Horsham. Finished in Mercury Grey metallic with Grey cloth interior trim, the Sierra has only covered a total of 53,258 miles from new. In current ownership since 2015, the Sierra has only two former keepers, with the previous owner being a fastidious retired Ford motor engineer, having worked for some 24 years for Ford. Purchased in 1991, he was understood to not entrust the care of his beloved Sierra to any of his former colleagues, therefore meticulously maintained it himself throughout his ownership.

Supplied with the original Service book with many handwritten entries from the previous owner, the book shows 23 entries in total. Accompanied by over 20 past MOT certificates, several past tax discs, a small collection of past invoices; and the original owner’s manual, dealer directory book and audio guide.

Offered from a deceased estate, the Sierra was used sparingly since entering the current ownership in 2015. The Ford has been off the road since the end of 2018 after it’s MOT expired due to requiring a new rear exhaust section. However, the required part is supplied with the car. Understood to have been started regularly until approximately 12-month previous, the Sierra will light recommissioning before submitting for an MOT, although we have had the Sierra running since arriving with ourselves.

With low owners and mileage, this is surely one for the Ford collector.
