One of a limited series of 15 cars, handmade with the same techniques as used in period and featuring scale replica of the original chassis. Cast iron front axle and cast aluminium rear axle, riveted aluminium body. 12 volt engine with reduction box to optimise performance, forward and backward movement and security system to protect engine when braking. Four wheel suspension with four wheel drum brakes. Interior features aluminium and wooden steering wheel with Alfa Romeo badge, full instrumentation, adjustable windscreen, engraved 'Alfa Romeo' throttle pedal, leather upholstery. Spoke wheels with hubs and bolt on caps, leather straps to fasten bonnet.
The P2 was the winner of the first World Championship in 1925 and was created by the great Vittorio Jano. The first car was developed in secret and featured a supercharged 8 cylinder engine, making a surprise debut at the Circuit of Cremona in 1924 winning the race at a then stunning average speed of 158 km/h. P2s were driven by some of the gretaest names in motor racing including Ferrari, Nuvolari, Ascari and Campari and was the first of a series of historic Alfa Romeo racing cars.
