Lot details Registration No: 552 VPC Chassis No: 328479 Mot Expiry: March 2015
Microcars (or bubble cars as they are popularly known) were born of the need for cheap short-distance transportation in the post-WW2 years. The most successful of the breed was the Isetta, whose origins lay with the Italian firm of Iso SpA (Isetta is Italian for `little Iso'), but which was adopted and largely redesigned by BMW. The 300 (298cc) version was introduced in 1956. `552 VPC' is a delightful-looking UK-built example finished in Yellow. It had the benefit of a restoration 17 years ago, and has evidently been used `regularly but sparingly' in recent times. The vendor currently views the blue/black/yellow check cloth interior trim and four-speed transmission as `excellent', the 300cc BMW engine and paintwork as `good' and the bodywork as `fine'. The Isetta currently displays an unwarranted 47,218 miles and is being sold complete with sunroof, custom-made indoor cover and an MOT valid to March 19th 2015.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
