Lot details Registration No: KGR 2 Chassis No: S824664DN Mot Expiry: May 2003
We have managed to bring you many interesting discoveries over the years and some time ago we sold a XK150 Jaguar fixed head coupe which was a wonderfully untouched barn discovery that had been dry stored in barn since 1981. It had remained unused with its 3442cc six-cylinder engine and manual four-speed transmission in the hope that the owner would get round to restoring it. He didn't so it was sold but the new owner has restored it completely and what a job he has done.
It was such a superb, untouched example, even the spare wheel had not been used, that it was ideal for restoration and coupled to that it has the valuable registration number of KGR 2. During its extensive refurbishment, it has had completely new upholstery in Connolly leather, a new headlining, new tyres, a bare metal re-spray and the engine has been dismantled and checked by a specialist.
In the folder accompanying the car there are receipts for over £9000 for work undertaken since June last year. On top of that it has received a new leather upholstery and headlining and we are informed that it drives beautifully. Here then we have one of the most desirable Jaguars of all time which has all the attributes one could hope for and the fixed head examples are now as sought after as their open-topped brothers.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
