Lot details Registration No: YGY336G Chassis No: 115064 Mot Expiry: T.B.A.
This Volvo 144, a right-hand drive saloon, has been fully rebuilt for Historic Special Stage Rallies. The 1998-executed preparations, clearly extensive, included fully strengthening and lightening the four-door bodyshell, and uprating of the suspension with competition-proven Bilsteins. Currently, body panels as well as chassis underneath are described as being excellent, whilst both white paintwork and black cloth interior are also said to be in excellent condition.
The robust 2-litre Volvo four has been rebuilt and modified with twin 45 Webers and is claimed to produce 165bhp. According to the owner, the engine has only done five events since the build. In fact, in total, he reckons the overall rally mileage has risen to only 400 stage miles. Currently, motor, four-speed manual gearbox, 4.88:1 ratio limited slip differential and electrical equipment are reportedly also in excellent order as are the alloys.
Included with this hardy Swede are a spare wheel, the all-important Historic Vehicle Identity form needed at scrutineering and an MOT test certificate, which is likely to be valid for approximately a full twelve months from auction day. Above all, YGY 336G is, says the owner, absolutely ready to go!
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
