Lot details Registration No: 706 URT Chassis No: SAJJNACC7CC118661 Mot Expiry: Sept 2004
The E-Type replacing XJS appeared in Jaguar dealer showrooms from 1975. Sharing much of its running gear with the XJ6 and XJ12 saloons, albeit with shortened wheelbase and either 5.3-litre twelve underbonnet or, as with this car, 3.6-litre six from 1983.
This XJSC, a 3.6 righthand drive cabriolet, first left Jaguar's Browns Lane factory in 1985. Described by the entrant as immaculate, 706 URT, a rare 3..6 manual and relatively low mileage example, has the benefit of the desirable 2+2 rear seat conversion. The 69,000 miles displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage.
The XJS cabriolet comes with service history as well as MOTs dating back to the first required in 1988. The bodyshell is described as being very good, the bronze paintwork and beige leather immaculate, the 3590cc capacity six and electrical items good and the 5-speed manual gearbox in very good order. Apart from offering the best of all worlds, this desirable and entirely practical to own and enjoy model represents particularly good value for money.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
