Designed by Alec Issigonis (who later penned the ubiquitous Mini), the Morris Minor was unveiled at the 1948 Earls Court Motor Show. There were two variants at launch - a two-door Saloon and Tourer, with the four-door Saloon following in 1950 and the popular Traveller, Van and Pick-up versions completed the range two years later.
This Traveller has been in possession of its previous keeper since 1994, being subjected to extensive restoration works in 2017 with a desirable 1300cc uprated engine fitted and further work including a bare metal respray, new wings and alloy back panel, ash frame, inner and outer sills and floor plans. Other areas receiving attention encompass the brakes, inner wheel trunnions, cylinders, rubbers, differential seals, gearbox seals, suspension bushes, carpets, chromework and a stainless-steel exhaust. The Minor will be sold with MOT until July 2019.
The vendor now describes the bodywork, engine, electrics, paintwork and gearbox all as 'excellent' and the interior trim as 'very good'.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
