The Rolls-Royce Shadow was originally offered only as a 4-door saloon, but in 1966, H J Mulliner Park Ward brought out a 2-door saloon, followed by a convertible in 1967. With a more potent engine, these coachbuilts were renamed Corniche 1971-1977, when replaced by the Corniche II.
This R-R Corniche II with MPW-crafted convertible coachwork was handbuilt in 1978. The open bodywork, painted in gold, is said to be very good and the interior has been in receipt of a newly executed retrim in dark brown with beige piping. The woodwork within is also described as being excellent, and the 6750cc V8 motor and 4-speed automatic are reportedly in very good order.
The 89,000 displayed when entered is believed to be the genuine total mileage from new and, according to the vendor, the MOT text certificate is likely to have been freshly renewed before sale day.
Here is an open-topped, coachbuilt Rolls in very nice condition. Great to look at, practical to run, worth considering.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
