Lot details Registration No: JGD 558 Frame No: 7546NA Engine No: T100-7546NA cc: 500 MOT Expiry Date: Oct 2008
The T100 was one of two models announced by Triumph when civilian production recommenced in 1945 partnering its touring stable-mate, the Speed Twin at the head of the range. The machine was much as the 1939 model had been, although the girder forks had given way to telescopic items and would continue largely without change for four years. 1949 brought revised styling for the Triumph range and the introduction of the famous "nacelle" housing the headlight and instruments.
This example was acquired by the present owner in 2004 having lain dormant in a garage since 1957. An extensive, "no expense spared restoration" ensued, utilising stainless fasteners throughout. The engine and transmission were rebuilt and are described as being in excellent condition having covered little more than 300 miles since the rebuild. The cycle parts are similarly described and benefited from stainless rims. The silver and black livery is described as being in as new condition as is the renewed brightwork and the electrical system is described as "new". The recorded mileage of 31,000 is not warranted but the machines history lends credence to it. The original tool kit, instruction and spares manuals, buff log book and tax discs accompany the machine as does a Swansea V5C, an Mot valid until the 1st October 2008 and a road fund licence valid until the end of August 2008. A digital photofile of the restoration and a Triumph Owners Club Dating Certificate are also included with it.
