The Mk 1 Le Mans was introduced to the world at the November 1975 Milan Show. Displacing 844cc it delivered a healthy 71bhp at 7300rpm with a claimed top speed of 205 km/h. In common with the rest of the range a five-speed gearbox and shaft drive were used and the linked triple disc braking system was employed. Offered in metallic ice blue or Italian racing red with a matt black exhaust and nose fairing it was a striking machine 'Which Bike' summing up their road test of a Mk I Le Mans with "It looks like 130 mph standing still and it's undoubtedly the sort of bike many would part with hard earned cash for".
The red example offered has been in store for a number of years and has recently been recommissioned. The brakes have been overhauled and a new battery has been fitted enabling the machine to be Mot'd. Described by the vendor as having good cosmetics, a good engine with the electrical system and transmission being ok it is accompanied by a Swansea V5C and an Mot valid until August 2015.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
