This fabulous Cooper has been the subject of a two-year restoration covering all body, interior, electrical and mechanical areas as follows which has been summarised by the vendor below:

"New Heritage body panels fitted as listed below prior to a bare metal respray by show winning painter.

Front wings, inner wings, inner and outer A -panels, complete floor, front toe board, boot floor, companion boxes, rear wheel arches, windscreen surround, door skins, rear sub frame, small finishing and closing panels.

New interior in correct specification

The engine was stripped down, crankshaft reground to 20 mains and 20 big ends. The pistons and cylinder bores were checked for wear and found to be fine and original D-top pistons fitted with new rings and cylinder bores honed. The cylinder hard was decoked with valves and seats re-cut and new valve springs fitted/ The engine was then rebuilt with a new oil pump and a duplex timing chain with new seals and gaskets.

The gearbox was stripped, new baulk rings and bearings fitted. Re assembled with new gaskets and new driveshaft couplings, new clutch centre plate, master cylinder, clutch arm, and slave cylinder.

The brakes have been upgraded to "S" specification with new 7 ½ inch discs, callipers, pads, dust shields, CV joints, master cylinder, hoses, pipes, rear brake cylinders, brake shoes, handbrake cables.

Hydrolastic pipes replaced, rear subframe, radius arms overhauled with four new knuckle joints.

The steering rack has had the following replaced; rack bush, pinion bearings, tie rods, track rod ends, rubber boots.

New RC40 exhaust with 3 branch manifold

Carb overhauled with jets, needles, butterflies, rubber hoses, fuel pipe front to rear
Full re-wire, new dynamo brushes, control box, front indicators and halogen headlamps

New radiator, thermostat, water pump, hoses and heater matrix"
