The Lambretta Li series 1 was launched in April 1958. Some 7 months after the TV175 Series 1 was launched. By then Innocenti had eliminated most of the engine problems that the TV175 Series 1 had had. The Li150 was a dramatic departure from the shaft driven LD range that had preceded it. The new enclosed chain driven engine was centrally positioned under the frame and had more power than the LD. With larger 10 inch wheels and beautifully designed panel work it was a superb scooter to ride and was instant hit. Coupled with beautiful styling and has been hugely sought after for many years by collectors.
This fine example appears to have all the original parts and is very straight, despite the over-painting. When the over-painting occurred it appears that the frame was not touched inside. The scooter has a steering lock key and the lock still retains its original flap, and the tool box key is also present. The speedo appears original, although only showing 1km. Original cables appear to have never been removed and the hand levers are the correct type with the slotted cut out. Original saddles are in excellent condition and there is also the original and correct MA19 carburettor. It appears to have been very well after. It started easily and our consultant was able to ride this scooter at the time of consignment. We would describe this example as very straight and honest, with panels that line-up very well. This scooter could be used 'as is', when registered or is a superb basis for a quality restoration. There are no documents with the scooter.
