According to information supplied to the vendor by Dr Ehrlich upon purchase, this particular Works machine achieved a number of notable results. Initially prepared for the 1960 season, it is reputed to have been ridden to victory by Derek Minter at Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Silverstone and the Hutchinson 100. Subsequently piloted by Paddy Driver to third place in the Saar GP, it was also used by Tony Godfrey to record seventh overall in the Ultra Lightweight category of the 1961 Isle of Man TT race. A seasoned campaigner, it nevertheless retains a number of appealing details. Thus, the name of aviation company 'De Havilland' (Dr Ehrlich's employer and patron at the time) is still clearly visible on its engine crankcase casting.
