Lot details Registration No: NB 8938 Chassis No: 4225 Mot Expiry: T.B.A.
Apparently the last remaining example of a "Super Sports", this rare car cost more than double its mass-produced contemporaries. Designed to a very high standard its specification included forged and drilled chassis sections and multi-splines in its transmission components.
With an extensive history file from new, this car is photographed by "The Autocar" in 1920 at Shelsley Walsh. Owned by a wealthy Stockport family and subsequently their gardener appearing in its 1925 log book, he kept the car until 1954. In 1976 a sympathetic and minutely documented 15 year restoration commenced. Since 1994, its current owner has campaigning it whilst investing in a gearbox overhaul, new king pins and bushes and beaded tyres. It cruises easily at around 60 mph.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
