Many regard the SX200 to be the finest scooter Innocenti produced, and possibly regarded as the best scooter ever made. The SX range retained most styling features of the TV 175/200 Series III which preceded it. The bodywork however was more angular and streamlined than that of the preceding LI models. Like the TV Series III, the headset housed a keyed ignition/light switch in the space that the standard LI had a simple kill switch. The SX200 had improved performance and gearing over the previous TV200 models. The SX is the quintessential Lambretta, they are extremely prized by collectors and the SX200 with its own uniquely styled panels and powerful motor is the absolute top of the scooter tree.
This example presented in a very pretty colour of Candy Red over White has just been for a service with Armandos of Sheffield. The paint is almost blemish free and striking. A new 5 plate ‘Tino Sacchi’ clutch was recently fitted. We were able to note what appears to be a very high-quality restoration. The top end is a BGM RT225 coupled with a 25mm YSM carburettor and big bore exhaust. The kick start appears to be an original SX200 long arm type. Guido at Armandos was able to confirm to our consultant that it was in extremely good running order. We were able to see the scooter running and it started up easily with bright lights and a great sound. In addition to the tasteful engine upgrades we note a SIP digital speedometer and attractive tubeless chrome wheel rims. The scooter is running on 12v IDM Italian ignition. The cables appear to have been well-fitted and overall the scooter is a very good example of an SX200 with modern upgrades. We noted that many original parts had been reused in the restoration including possible side panel badges and handles. The seat is an original Noemi Rosa with a new cover. Only for reluctant sale due to genuine family reasons.
