Lot details
Believed unique, this lavish tome was produced by the YPF, the Argentinean equivalent of the FIA in conjunction with J.M. Fangio, patron of the event as a full photographic record of the 1972 1000km World Sportscars Endurance race. The race was held at The Buenos Aires Autodrome, nicknamed 'The Concrete Jungle. It comprises over 50 thick card pages, with individual dust sheets over every single page, plus hundreds of original monotone photographs, covering everything from the set-up, the catering, to the start of the race etc. All photographs are individually mounted, with captions in English and Argentinean. We believe this to be the only copy in the world, produced for the YPF and to be retained at the HQ, another copy may however have been produced for J.M. Fangio. A very important piece of motor racing memorabilia, from the golden age of sports car racing.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
