Lot details Registration No: G319HWR Chassis No: SA9DSNZP8LL019190 Mot Expiry: April 2006
The TVR marque owes its existence - and name - to one Trevor Wilkinson who made specials in Blackpool and marketed kit cars with glass-fibre bodies. Pre-1982, when the by then well established TVR Engineering was taken over by Peter Wheeler who successfully steered the Northern sportscar firm for so many years until the recent Russian takeover, TVR was in Lilley family ownership.
Crossing the block here is an open 280, a right-hand drive S2 two-door sports in red with black leather interior and Ford 2933cc six-cylinder engine, which originally left the TVR works in 1990 to be first registered as a demonstrator, since when service history on file has been recorded by just two owners.
This rapid sportscar, which has a Kenwood face-off radio-cassette, has had adjustable shock absorbers fitted all round and front brakes and tyres renewed. It was most recently serviced and tested in April, the latest MOT certificate therefore being valid until April of next year, while the 40,240 miles displayed when entered for the sale is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage for this Northern classic from new.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
