Lot details Registration No: E155GRG Chassis No: ZFFWD21C000076134 Mot Expiry: May 2013
The Mondial was a mid-engined 2+2-seater manufactured from 1980 to 1993. A successor to the Bertone penned 308/GT4, it was designed by Pininfarina and available as a Coupe or Cabriolet. The construction was unconventional, with the steel outer body outsourced to Carrozzeria Scaglietti and mated to a lightweight steel box-section chassis - the bonnet and boot lids were formed in aluminium. Another unusual feature was that the engine, five-speed manual gearbox and rear suspension were all mounted on a detachable steel subframe.
Since entering the current ownership eight years ago, this low mileage right-hand drive 1988 3.2 Quattrovalvole is said to have undergone some £2,000 worth of bodywork refurbishment and to have been fitted with a full Larini stainless steel exhaust system not to mention new brake pipes (2011) and hoses (2009). Reportedly treated to a recent service by marque specialist Bob Houghton (which included new cam belts), the Ferrari is judged by the vendor to have "excellent" bodywork, Rosso Corsa paintwork and manual gearbox, and "very good" Cream leather interior trim and V8 engine. Riding on correct-type alloy wheels, `E155 GRG' comes complete with extensive history file (including service and repair documentation that apparently supports the indicated mileage of 35,894) and an MOT valid until May 2013. The specification includes a factory-fitted sunroof and Ferrari immobiliser.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
