Lot details Registration No: RVK673F Chassis No: 45/7748 Mot Expiry: June 2015
The original Ron Hickman-penned Elan looks as fresh as when it burst onto the roads in 1962 and, thanks to its lightweight, stiff backbone chassis, fully independent wishbone suspension and potent twin-cam powerplant, will still show a clean pair of heels to many a far younger rival. The tidy-looking righthand drive example on offer has had seven keepers to date. It was treated to a new chassis and body in 1999, since when it has reputedly covered as little as 2000 miles. Finished in its original colour of Yellow, trimmed in Black vinyl and sporting a new facia it is currently considered by the vendor to have 'excellent' interior trim and 'very good' bodywork, paintwork, 1558cc engine and four-speed manual gearbox. The Lotus is being sold complete with its original log book, V5C, MOT to June 18 next year, range of receipts and a full photographic record of the restoration.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
