Although MV Agusta are best known outside of Italy for their Grand Prix machines and the fire breathing road going fours they relied on the sale of light and middle weight machines in their domestic market. During 1965 a revised range of 125 over head valve singles was introduced with fresh styling and refined mechanics including the adoption of a five speed gearbox. The majority shared a common chassis and engine with the state of tune and cycle parts differentiating the models, however, one, the Scrambler employed a completely new frame. Built for the increasingly important trailbike market, the Scrambler featured a removable lower cradle element that also incorporated a sump shield, the rest of the machines utilised an "open" frame underneath the engine. The cycle parts reflected the models intended role with a high mounted front mudguard, a single seat and a high level exhaust system equipped with an extensive, perforated heat shield being fitted. The machine was equipped with trials pattern tyres and finished in red with a white flash on the tank.
The rare example offered was brought back from Italy by a private MV Agusta collector. It is offered in original, unrestored condition, but apart from the exhaust system and headlamp lens, is complete and will reward the restorer with an unusual and desirable machine.
