Alfa Romeo's credentials as a genuinely sporting manufacturer of automobiles that are nearly always collectible has been well earned from almost continuous involvement in competition work from 1911 until today when the marque is still a front runner in top flight touring car racing on the Continent. The now Fiat-owned firm's products have carried the cross and serpent crest of Milan within their logo since just after the First World War.
Offered here is a Pininfarina-styled Giulietta spider, a lefthand drive open two-seater, which originally left the Alfa Romeo factory in 1960. The entrant advises us that the history file is large, charting the ownership of all keepers from new and indicating that this would appear always to have been a much cherished motor car.
The bodywork, above and below, is rated by the vendor as being in very good shape, the red paintwork also very good and the black vinyl interior excellent. The 1.3-litre four is reportedly in good order and the manual gearbox as well as the electrical equipment are also claimed to be very good. Current tax disc and MOT test pass certificate will be valid until next April.
Claimed to be a really sound motor car, this classic Italian is, of course, exactly the same model that has been seen on so many repeats on the box being driven by Edward Fox in the `The Day of the Jackal' movie. Very period, very racy, very you!
