Following its replacement of the MGA in 1962, the MGB was steadily updated during its 18 year reign. However, the biggest visual change in the car's history occurred in 1974, when steel reinforced rubber bumpers replaced the chrome ones and the ride height was raised by one inch. By the time Roadster production ceased in October 1980, a total of 399,070 are said to have been produced.
This Sunset Orange example has been in the hands of one previous keeper from new, initially in his company's name and latterly his own. Supplied new by F W Mays & Co Ltd of Dorking, it is understood to have covered just c.20,280 miles. Accompanied by an owner's wallet with stamped service book to 12,000 miles, handbook, most tax discs back to 1981 and most MoTs dating back to 1988, this time warp example, (even the spare key is still attached to the bulkhead), is accompanied by a Swansea V5 document and current MoT.
