For the majority of racing clubmen at the end of the 1940's, a competitive machine was either a pre-war competition model pressed back into service or a tuned road machine, the limited supply of 7R's, KTT's, Grand Prix's and Goldie's being the preserve of supported riders.
This rigid framed AMC single is representative, at least externally, of the machines that would have appeared on grids around the country. A Goldie front wheel and eight inch brake offer improved retardation in comparison to the standard 7 inch item fitted to "heavyweight" Ajays and Matchless machines of the time. The all alloy over head valve single is equipped with, according to the vendor, a full set of Jawa components including crank, con- rod, piston and eight inch flywheels, with the drive being transmitted via a close ratio gearbox.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
