According to the vendor, this 1969-manufactured MGB GT was acquired at auction as a restoration project in October 1996, since when the coupe has been completely stripped, with all replacement body panels employed being treated with preserving red oxide paint. The original roof, which had been cut to accommodate a sunroof, was removed and replaced with a new panel. Front and rear wings as well as bonnet were also renewed as was the interior. The cylinder head was modified to take lead-free fuel, whilst K & N air filters, Kenlow electric fan and stainless steel exhaust were fitted.
Current condition of fixed head bodyshell, paintwork in Midnight Blue and grey leather front seats piped in blue are described as good. Both 1.8-litre 4-cylinder motor and 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive are reportedly also in good order.
The current MOT test certificate and tax disc will not need renewing until next March. Included in the documentation with the car are many receipts and photos recording the refurbishment which was completed only two years ago.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
