Lot details Registration No: EBD 10T Chassis No: 4564 Mot Expiry: Sept 2005
Handmade by Robert Jankel's Panther Westwinds of Walton-on-Thames, this distinctive roadster was manufactured in 1978 before the renamed Panther Car Company relocated to Weybridge in 1980. Following in the wheeltracks of Jankel's J72 SS100 look-alike and Panther De Ville Bugatti Royale clone, both hand-crafted in aluminium, came the Lima. Aimed at the pop sports market, the Lima offered a 1930s-styled open two-seater in GRP on a beefed-up Vauxhall Magnum floorpan.
This 1978-built roadster was completely rebuilt by the previous owner and has been little used during current ownership, always dry-garaged and only driven around 1000 miles on sunny days.
Righthand drive chassis and body are claimed to be in good shape, whilst silver and grey paintwork is said to be good, too, and the black interior reasonable. The GM four-cylinder motor of 2.3-litre capacity, five-speed manual gearbox and electrical items are reportedly all in good order. The 22,417 miles displayed when entered is believed to be the genuine total mileage from new, while the current MOT will be valid the beginning of next September.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
